Cooperative video games occupy a special place in my heart. Whether it was vanquishing The Covenant with friends in Halo 3 or testing the boundaries of my relationship with my partner in Heave Ho or Moving Out, great co-op games have a way of amplifying the magic of the medium when shared with loved ones. The upcoming It Takes Two joins that pantheon of amazing co-op experiences with its creative spin on teamwork and its mature and interesting love story. To celebrate the launch of Hazelight’s latest project, we’re bringing on a special guest to show the game off to the GI community.
On tomorrow’s special stream, Andrew Reiner and Alex Stadnik are joined by Hazelight founder Josef Fares to play his new co-op experience and answer all the burning questions surrounding his latest game.
We’re kicking off the fun tomorrow starting at 10 a.m. CT, so be sure to join us in the chat to hang out with Josef and get your questions answered about It Takes Two. If you can’t get enough of our live shows, remember to subscribe on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and Facebook to get notified when we go live each week!
Curious about It Takes Two? Here’s an excerpt from Reiner’s review, where the EIC himself calls the game one of the best co-op experiences in recent memory:
Combining the actions of both players is used in almost every sequence, which are usually wonderfully designed, delivering plenty of laughs, edge-of-your-seat moments, and a unique flow that necessitates teamwork. A few sequences push both characters to do the same type of action, but with slightly different thinking and motions for each, such as having to spin the water wheels on a boat in different directions to avoid running into mines. This is the type of activity that will have you yelling back and forth as you stumble with what you want the other player to do in conjunction with your movement.
It Takes Two releases on March 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
