Great 4-player co-op zombie killing action. Each run-through will never be the same thanks to the AI director, which often keeps things interesting, randomly spawning special infected, and tanks. This keeps the game constantly challenging, and forces players to adapt to quickly changing situations, or die trying. This version of L4D introduces new weapons, like the AK-47, military sniper rifle (HK PSG-1), Desert Eagle sidearm, M40 grenade launcher, and M60 machine gun. It also includes new special infected, like the spitter, charger, and jockey, adding new threats to situations never before experienced in L4D1.

At one time, Left 4 Dead was one of the best shooter and its continuation won’t disappoint fans of the original version due to the distribution of roles between AIs. The game has a cooperative, but the story mode can be completed without friends, then the three remaining places will be taken by bots. AI will always try to help the player if he is in trouble, sharing a first-aid kit or telling what to do. Members of your team from time to time will tell some phrases and jokes to bring the atmosphere in the process of exploring locations. Bots shoot pretty accurately and rarely find themselves pinched in a corner as well as follow the player and adjust to him. Beginners should listen to the tips of bots, most of them help to avoid danger.
Another kind of AI in the game is the “Director”, whose duties include placing the infected on the map, spawn bosses, as well as placing auxiliary items. The computer, depending on the selected complexity and effectiveness of the player, will slightly adjust the map, change the location of objects and some enemies. This invisible assistant will always throw a few first-aid kits or a defibrillator if the survivors have a low level of health. It is AI “Director” that helps make the game more interesting.
The entire gameplay consists of shooting dozens of zombies that stagger around the map or in crowds chasing your group. Due to the huge number of goals, it is not always possible to eliminate the threat, therefore it is important to constantly move and break through to more advantageous position. Staying outdoors, as well as sitting in a corner, becomes dangerous and risky, especially during an attack by the Horde or Tank.
Sitting in the corner and fighting off opponents during the Horde invasion is no longer an option, because special infected people can divide the survivors, break your formation or hold the player in the corner, which can lead to the death of the entire group. For example, a new kind of especially infected ones is Spitters. They are able to kill a group of players with one spit, if they are clamped in a narrow space. Therefore, the only option to survive and have fun in Left 4 Dead 2 is to act together with your group.
Cooperative passage and the ability to play with other players on the network provide a completely different gaming experience. In competitive games, gamers are divided into two teams – surviving and infected (4 people each). The task is trivial – to destroy the enemy team.
The game remains popular for a number of reasons:

- It has good optimization and normal graphics;
- Provides an interesting and dynamic gameplay;
- Almost all types of infected are fairly balanced.

Fun and addictive. Recommend playing with friends first. People online can be quite harsh if you’re a noob, especially in versus mode, which is bad for community, and can be less fun and just stressful. But what do you expect, it’s a violent zombie game, people will use profanity on the constant. If you have thick skin and like to play with strangers that like to swear at nothing and at you and still have a good time, then go for it. If you just want to smash some zombies because you feel like it, go for it. If you’re just there for fun, go for it! Every map is different and interesting. Fast paced action game.

Even after 10 years, this game still holds up well despite not having any major new content in the past few years.
The ability to mod your game through workshop addons (or addons uploaded on other game mod sites) gives it higher replayability value, especially since there are plenty of mappers who release new addon campaigns every now and then.
While there are still a few bugs that happen every so often, for the most part, Valve has patched out most of the exploits. Special Infected sometimes still get stuck in certain locations (the most notorious being on Dark Carnival’s finale map, where the Tank can get stuck easily).
