Description: Ready or Not is a tactical first-person shooter developed by VOID Interactive studio. The game puts players in the role of special forces, performing complex operations to eliminate terrorists, rescue hostages and neutralize various threats. The distinctive feature of the game is its commitment to realism and attention to detail, which is expressed in carefully designed mechanics, accurate animation and realistic damage model.
The plot of the game is set in a fictional modern world, where players take on the role of operatives of the elite SWAT unit, carrying out missions in urban warfare. Each mission requires the player team to coordinate, plan precisely, and make strategic decisions in a high-threat environment. Complex mission scenarios may include hostage rescue, bomb disposal, armed criminal capture, and civilian protection.
The graphics of the game also deserves a special mention. The developers tried to create an atmosphere of tension and realism using modern graphic technologies. Detailed models of characters and environment, dynamic lighting and high-quality sound effects immerse players in the atmosphere of real figh
Gameplay in Ready or Not is focused on tactics and teamwork. Players must carefully plan their actions, consider different scenarios and use a wide arsenal of weapons and equipment. The game offers several modes, including a single-player campaign and cooperative missions where players can team up to complete challenging missions.
Basic gameplay aspects:
- Tactical Planning.
Before starting each mission, players can study the building layout, select entry points, and assign roles in the team. It is important to carefully analyze available information about enemy locations, possible hostages and key strategic points. Players can utilize various tools for reconnaissance and planning, such as cameras, maps, and reconnaissance reports. - Environment Interaction.
The game allows you to use various elements of the environment to accomplish objectives, including doors, windows, stairs, and obstacles. Players can not just pass through these objects, but actively utilize them in their tactical plans. For example, doors can be breached, kicked in, or carefully opened, allowing you to choose between a quick assault or quiet infiltration. Windows can be used as alternate entry points or to fire on enemies inside a building. - Realistic physics and animations.
Every operation feels as realistic as possible thanks to believable physics and smooth character animations. The game uses an advanced physics system that takes into account many factors such as the weight and inertia of objects, interaction with surfaces and realistic behavior of different materials. This manifests itself in small details, such as the behavior of bullets penetrating different obstacles, realistic destruction of objects and dynamic response of objects to impact.
The “Home Invasion” add-on introduces a new scenario where players must infiltrate a private home occupied by terrorists and free the hostages. This mission stands out for its high degree of difficulty and requires excellent coordination and tactical training from the team.
The main features of the add-on:
- New location. Carefully designed interior of the house with a lot of rooms and hiding places, which must be taken into account when planning the operation.
- Challenging tasks. Players will have to cope with unexpected situations, such as hostages tied to explosives and booby-trapped passageways.
- Improved artificial intelligence. Enemies in this add-on behave more aggressively and intelligently, creating additional challenges for players.
Ready or Not stands out from other tactical shooters for its commitment to realism and detailed approach to every aspect of gameplay. The game offers a deep tactical component that requires players to think strategically as well as with precision and responsiveness. This makes it appealing to fans of the genre looking for a hardcore and believable special forces experience.
Overall, Ready or Not offers a unique combination of intense gameplay, realistic atmosphere, and challenging tactical tasks, making it one of the best games in its genre.

Reviews
Easily the best tactical shooter game on the market right now, This game is extremely realistic, Been playing since the early access. Before i bought it i used to watch a lot of immersive gameplay videos on youtube, And i really liked it since im a huge gun nerd.
Everything in this game is top notch, Graphics and sound quality are superb, Guns are so detailed, heavy and loud with different manufacturers, When the recoil kicks in it feels like you’re firing a real gun not a toy in a video game, Every gun is unique on its own and have its own attachments, they pay so much attention to details, And it makes my inner nerd so happy.
The combat itself is really gory/violant and quick, shoot or get shot, You don’t know whats waiting for you after every corner and room you clear, The AI in this game is probably the sickest AI i’ve ever seen in any video game, They’re really unpredictable the reaction time depends on the type of suspects you’re facing, They can be professionals, Street thugs etc… They can also sneak up on you and backstab you, pick their weapons up if you’re facing your back to them and fake their deaths if you haven’t tied up them yet, Your crew will start to lose sanity and become anxious after every lethal mission, You need to either send them to the therapist or fire them, Firing them will increase the overall stress of the rest of the team.
Ready or Not is genuinely one of the most thrilling and exciting games I have played this year. As someone who grew up playing SWAT 4, this game brings back a lot of nostalgia, making it even better. It perfectly scratches the itch for a similar title and excels in every aspect, particularly in its punishing difficulty and small margin for error, which adds to the realism.
The game fits the “Early Access” model well, currently featuring six diverse maps: a hotel, gas station, crack house, port, farm, and car dealership. Each map is beautifully crafted with immersive visuals and impressive sound design, making explosions, flashbangs, and gunfire feel impactful, a feat even AAA studios sometimes miss.
However, the AI can be inconsistent, sometimes good and other times straight-up stupid. The game would benefit from the implementation of achievements, more realistic customization, and additional weapons. Ready or Not is worth a download for those looking for a tactical shooter.
I only have two complaints. 1, the movement is very sluggish and bumbly. I’m not asking for CoD 2, the team AI is not good, even after this supposed “massively overhauled team AI” update. They regularly block doorways, run in front of my gun while firing, they don’t automatically restrain/report perps/suspects and tag evidence. I shouldn’t have to look at a person and order them to restrain and report or look at a gun and order them to tag. If im super close, it should default to me unless i order. If I walk away, the AI should kick in and restrain and tag the area. When playing co-op, anyone else can do these, so why did my AI teammates lose authorization to do so? Door blocking and stacking issues are annoying, as well. If we go into a bathroom, we don’t need 5 friggin guys in the stall. AI needs an auto-stack command line where only two guys enter small rooms to ensure you aren’t rubbing elbows. It’s gotten me killed and hostages killed. So has the running in front of my gun. There’s no arguing, team AI is poor.
Beyond that, game is great. Gun play is smooth, environments are great and detailed, lots of missions to chose from, lots of guns n gear. It also still in EA, so I’m not mad. But as I’ve played before and after the AI update, I can barely tell a difference.
Honestly? Other than the AI SWAT members getting in your way in tight areas (like closets and stuff) the game is really well made and super engaging.
9/10 recommend. It’d also be cool if the AI SWAT asked questions every once and a while – pass a closed door? “Sir, should we check here?” Or even mentioning that they either do or don’t hear noises behind closed doors/walls and stuff like that. Other than that the game is super well made.
