Description: No Mans Sky – absolutely unique game, which is difficult to attribute to one particular genre. Hello Games studio created it and released in August 2016. This project is a space simulator with RPG system, in a sci-fi setting. The main mission of the game is to reach the center of the universe in order to reveal an unusual secret. In No Man’s Sky, you will come across a severe climate of planets and their inhabitants, as well as dangerous space phenomena, along with hostile pirate ships. This idea based on ideas from the Spore game.
The originality of the game is using the procedural generation. The planets, their biomes, flora and fauna are creating randomly. Galaxies, comets, meteorites and other objects of the space system are also locating and creating accidentally. Fascinating fact is that the game was tested by artificial intelligence, who travelled the expanses of galaxies and planets and analyzed them. Therefore, the developers were able to make the generation of the world quite diverse.
In this game, planets and galaxies have real dimensions. It is difficult to imagine such a large space, the game is truly huge and you will need more than a hundred thousand hours to fly around the entire virtual galaxy. This goal of the game is not easy to achieve at all and nobody did it for now, as we know.
More about the game
While peaceful studying of planets, discovering of new plants and living beings, you will still have to fight for your life. Some planets have their guards, dangerous creatures in a pretty aggressive habitat. Game biomes are mediocre implemented, but it’s forgivable, since this is not the basis of the game process.
There are several basic ways of passing the game, which the player can combine. Trading is a peaceful and affordable way to succeed, though not fast. Your task is to look for resources on various planets and asteroids, then sell them in trade terminals. The path of colonization is a little more complicated, because you can find yourself isolated on the planet with a broken ship, without the ability to quickly repair it. Or simply travel from planet to planet and gather the necessary resources, bypassing hostile pirates and protecting peaceful traders. In fact, no one gives you a plan of actions in this game; you are free to do what you want.
To be more powerful and faster, it is necessary to improve your main character and spaceship. You must do this, otherwise your path will be long and thorny. On the planets, there is a chance to find an upgrade for the ship or a new weapon. Sometimes you will not find the upgrade itself, but the plans and you need to collect resources for it. As mentioned above, you can find resources on planets and asteroids. Accordingly, you can’t ignore any of the sources, because there are different types of minerals.
Lots of your game also depends on luck, for example, you can start the game from a planet that will burn you with acid from the first minutes. Or ruthless random will throw your feeble ship on the block of ice. The resources located on the planets become more valuable as they approach the center of the universe. In general, No Man’s Sky offers the player a very interesting gameplay with excellent graphics and sound design. You will be able to explore the galaxy with your friends.

I will say. this game has come such a long way. after a troubled and admittadly disappointing launch. this is now a TOTALLY different game and dare I say the revolutionary game it was supposed to be.
For an indie developer this game is excellent. Definitely had problems at release, but do to constant improvements the game is becoming a gem. The price is fair based on the size (infinite) of the game. Clearly faster walk speed and mining speed should be toggleable quality of life options, but sometimes developers make you use mods. Don’t ask me why.
Keep in mind that for the most part this is an exploration game. Everything else is secondary.
Possibly one of the funnest and most mysterious games I have ever played. The premise itself is so amazing yet poorly executed. It however is making an amazing comeback and I am truely proud to be one of the many galaxy explorers. With the No Man’s Sky NEXT update looming very soon (Next day). I am excited as i can ever be. Congrats to Hello Games for making one of the most ambitious comebacks ever!
