Reviews
I like this game, and it is very satisfying, but i do wish that there was a bit more life to the game. You kinda just feel like you’re the only person on earth, apart from the phone calls. Even if it were just cars sometimes driving down the street, or people roaming on the beach, not even anyone the player needs to interact with, just purely to make it a bit more lively in the game.
Even if we could adopt pets, that would be better than nothing. Hopefully that could be a free update rather than a pricey DLC.
House Flipper’s sequel is a fantastic improvement over its predecessor, offering a diverse range of buildings to renovate with extensive furnishing options. The game features enhanced graphics, including better lighting, enriching the overall experience. It also introduces engaging storytelling, improved mechanics with nicer animations, and a new sandbox mode for custom house creation. A must-play for fans of the first game.
I appreciate several features like the extensive color choices for items, the ability to copy items and their colors, change colors without repurchasing, and the addition of small decorative items and plant pots. I also enjoy the feature of adding personal photos to frames, the convenience of moving tables without displacing items on them, and the minimalistic HUD.
On the downside, I find certain aspects lacking or frustrating, such as the absence of curtains/blinds making houses look odd, the tedious painting process despite upgrades, and the desire for a sensitivity option for the paint roller. I suggest improvements like disabling the night/day cycle, making items transparent when placing flooring for easier decoration, and the ability to turn off the grid which disrupts the visual experience. Despite these criticisms, I’m optimistic about future updates and am gradually warming up to the game’s smooth, cartoonish style as I delve deeper into custom builds.
House Flipper 2 maintains the core concept of its predecessor, enhancing building and cleaning satisfaction. However, it falls short with less base content than the original, missing features such as curtains and a variety of building options, alongside some areas lacking character and bugs, including a notable save issue related to cloud saving. The removal of the problem-solving mini-game for furniture assembly, replaced with one for a discount, detracts from the gameplay experience, although the sense of satisfaction after large projects remains.
The game introduces fewer building projects with limited options, and house flipping unlocks only after completing a 10-hour story mode, without the promised feature of building houses from scratch. Despite these drawbacks, House Flipper 2 offers about 20-30 hours of engaging gameplay but may not retain interest until new DLC is released, slightly diminishing its appeal compared to the original.
