GTA 6 – “The Most Anticipated Game of the Year
Last night, the 10th annual The Game Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles. Before the show, we warned that hoping for a new GTA 6 trailer reveal was not advisable. The developers have long since stopped making major announcements at various events—they get plenty of attention without external help. Yes, in an ad released a few days prior, three frames from “the sixth” were shown, but that’s because it was nominated for “Most Anticipated Game of the Year”.
In this category, everything initially seemed quite predictable. And so it turned out: GTA 6 surpassed its “competitors.” It was announced, and the winners continued to be named. There were no speeches, unlike during the Golden Joystick Awards. Most likely, there were no Rockstar Games representatives in the audience.
It’s interesting to consider if (or rather, when) GTA 6 is postponed to 2026, a possibility even Jason Schreier is talking about, could it contend for the same award next year? Unlikely, of course, but it would be amusing.
