The poignant dramedy “Yura Was Here,” starring Konstantin Khabensky, is slated for release on Russian VOD platforms this March 21.
Having premiered in theaters on February 5, the film garnered 58 million rubles at the box office. The story revolves around three young musicians who find themselves looking after their friend’s uncle, Yura, a man with intellectual disabilities. Their brief time together soon evolves into a profound journey of patience, camaraderie, and unexpected self-discovery.
The film marks the directorial debut of Sergey Malkin and features performances by Kuzma Kotrelev, Denis Paramonov, and Alexander Porshin. Last year, the project achieved critical acclaim by winning the Grand Prix at the Mayak Festival of Contemporary Russian Cinema.
