The streaming giant Disney+ is currently developing a brand-new series centered on Tinker Bell, the iconic fairy from the beloved “Peter Pan” stories.
The project is being spearheaded by screenwriters Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter, both known for their work on the critically acclaimed Friday Night Lights. While specific plot details are still under wraps, Hollywood has seen several past attempts to bring a solo Tinker Bell spin-off to life. Previously, stars such as Reese Witherspoon and Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) were attached to various iterations of the project that never made it to production.
The character most recently appeared on screen in 2023, portrayed by Yara Shahidi in the live-action film Peter Pan & Wendy. It has not yet been announced who will take on the role for this upcoming series. Beyond live-action appearances, the character is widely recognized for her own successful franchise of animated films that released between 2008 and 2015.
