About this game
Hogwarts Legacy is a large-scale open-world action RPG set in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the late nineteenth century. The story follows a goblin uprising led by Ranrok and the dark wizard Victor Rookwood. They seek an artifact that threatens the entire wizarding world. The protagonist is a Hogwarts student who enters directly into the fifth year. This unusual admission is explained by unique abilities. The hero has the rare gift of sensing traces of ancient magic and even wielding it.
The player character arrives at Hogwarts at an unusual time and is quickly drawn into dangerous adventures. You will attend classes, learn spells and potions, explore the surrounding areas, and uncover the secrets of ancient magic. Along the way you will befriend classmates and meet new characters in the universe. Together you will challenge dark wizards and the rebelling goblins to stop the looming threat. The course of the story largely depends on player choices and it is up to you to decide the outcome.
- A vast magical world. Explore an open map that includes Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest, and new locations beyond the school. The world is richly detailed. The castle is full of secret passages and puzzles and the outskirts hide places unreachable to ordinary Muggles. The world follows day and night as well as seasons so weather and scenery change over time.
- Hogwarts and Houses. Feel like a student of the famous school of witchcraft and wizardry. At the start the Sorting Hat assigns you to a House and you can choose Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. Your House determines a cozy common room with unique decor and colors and some minor story nuances. Attend lessons such as Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Potions, and more.
- Magical combat and spells. Combat is deep and varied. Battles happen in real time. Combine spells, dodge incoming attacks, and raise shields to block enemy strikes. Dozens of spells are available including the legendary Unforgivable Curses Avada Kedavra, Crucio, and Imperio.
- Character progression. This is a full RPG. Earn experience from quests and defeated foes, level up, and enhance abilities. Leveling grants Talent Points that you invest in different skill categories such as stealth, spell power, dark magic, and more.
- Gear. A robust equipment and crafting system lets you find, buy, or create gear such as robes, gloves, and hats that grant character bonuses. Some items increase health while others reduce cooldowns or boost specific magic types.
- Magical beasts and travel. The world is home to many fantastic creatures. You will encounter dragons, trolls, spiders, Nifflers, Mooncalves, and other inhabitants of the universe.
- Authentic Hogwarts atmosphere. Built with love for the source material and packed with details for fans. Hogwarts Castle is beautifully recreated from talking portraits on the walls to secret rooms waiting to be discovered. In the corridors you may meet familiar figures from the books such as Nearly Headless Nick, the poltergeist Peeves, or Professor Binns. They fit naturally into the setting and sometimes offer witty lines or small tasks.
Game trailer:
Dark Arts Pack is DLC for Hogwarts Legacy themed around forbidden magic. It is included exclusively with the Deluxe Edition.
The Dark Arts Pack includes three bonus items:
- Thestral Mount which lets you travel the world on a spectral winged horse.
- Dark Arts Cosmetic Set a cosmetic outfit for the hero styled after a practitioner of dark magic with skulls and serpentine motifs.
- Dark Arts Battle Arena a special challenge arena where you can fight waves of enemies using dark spells.
The arena is notable because all three Unforgivable Curses are permitted there even for players who have not learned them in the main story. It is a trial mode where you can test dark magic in combat without consequences. For fans who want to experience the darker side of magic this DLC is a great addition.
Hogwarts Legacy on PC is a content-rich single-player game that blends a beloved fairy-tale world with modern gameplay. It offers hundreds of hours of adventure from classes and friendly dialogues to epic battles and exploration of the unknown areas around Hogwarts.
Hogwarts Legacy turned out to be the Hogwarts game fans had long awaited and now anyone can download it on PC and feel the magic come to life on screen. Enjoy your legacy in the wizarding world.

Reviews
Love the atmosphere, I enjoy just wandering the halls of Hogwarts. I’ve been able to stay away from any tips/youtube videos of this game and I’m just working things out on my own, in my own pace. Some of the puzzles are quite easy but you still feel accomplished when finishing them. I’m no super fan of Harry Potter, I’ve watched the films but not read the books, but I love this kind of fantasy atmosphere. The combat system is entertaining, but I much more enjoy getting ingredients, making potions and exploring.
The graphics are beautiful, the story’s solid, and the combat system is fun and unique, though it can feel a bit stale when fighting high HP enemies. There’s tons to explore, and you can easily spend hours just doing side quests or wandering around. I really love the variety of beasts you can find, collect, and breed. There are also a lot of hidden secrets and puzzles, you could easily spend 200 hours in the castle alone just uncovering everything. I definitely recommend it, even if you’re not a fan of the series. And if you are, like me, you’re going to have an absolute blast.
As someone who had zero prior Harry Potter knowledge, this game was amazing. The world is breathtaking, the combat is pretty well thought out, and there is tons of content for you to do during or after finishing the main story. The room of requirement was a nice feature that allowed for extensive customization alongside all the vivariums they also give you access to. Theres a whopping amount of side challenges, quests, and collectibles. Was 95 Merlin Trials needed? Absolutely not. Did I still do all of them and everything else the game had to offer? Yeah. Though some aspects, like those trials, do get repetitive, it genuinely didn’t matter in the end and turned me into a fan of the series.
