About this game
Satisfactory is a unique construction and management simulator where you build and automate your own factory on an alien planet. The gameplay combines open world exploration, resource gathering, designing complex production chains, and battles with aggressive alien fauna.
You can play solo or in co-op with friends. A vast planet awaits you to explore and develop. You can raise huge multi story plants anywhere, lay kilometers of conveyor belts, and push production to maximum efficiency. Starting with simple assembly lines you will gradually master advanced technologies and move from manual resource extraction to a fully automated production cycle.
Here are the key features:
- Open world: Explore a huge planet of about 30 sq km with varied biomes and unique fauna some creatures can be dangerous. You are free to go anywhere in search of resources and new base locations.
- Co-op: Build and develop the factory with friends. The game supports co-op for up to 4 players so you can split duties and work efficiently as a team.
- Construction and automation: Build a factory from scratch by linking extraction, refining, and assembly into one production chain with conveyors. Maximize automation and minimize manual work. Your industrial empire will run like clockwork.
- Freedom of building: Plan your base layout to your taste. The game places few limits on architecture. You can erect buildings of any height and shape, use foundations to level terrain, or build with the landscape. You decide how your production looks and functions.
- Transport and logistics: Use vehicles for freight trucks and trains and pipelines for fluids. For fast travel around the base you have jump pads, a jetpack, hypertubes, and even a factory cart. A developed transport network speeds up distant expansion and links remote bases into one system.

Reviews
It has been a genuine treat to have followed the progress of this game all the way up to it’s official 1.0 launch. Every updates that has been made for Satisfactory was exciting and acclaimed by it’s wonderful community. CoffeeStain always knows how to deliver on their games, and besides GhostShip games, there is no other studio that I would trust more than these fine individuals, legendary dev team. I’ve been a fan of their work since Sanctum in…2011….
Satisfactory is their biggest and most ambitious project they have worked on so far, and it shows!
I can honestly call this one of my favourite games without hesitation. It’s a fun and approachable title to the factory and automation genre that increases in complexity as you go through all it’s phases with many gadgets to tinker around and play with. A gem to be sure.
I am looking forward playing it for another hundreds of hours more!
After nearly 1000 hours, 700 of which were during early access, I can confidently say this is one of the best factory games ever created. In an age where factory games are becoming more and more common, this one still stands out above the others. It is challenging enough to stimulate your brain, while also managing to be a laid back gaming experience that you can play with or without sound. I frequently play while listening to music, an audiobook, or youtube. Family gamers rejoice! This game is easy to save and quit at any time. Baby shat the diaper? Toddler fell on her face? Teenager giving your beloved an attitude? Save, quit, and manage the chaos in moments.
First, the obvious: Factorio is a better game. Bigger, harder, faster, stronger. Tighter in design, richer in quality of life features and interface, yada, yada.
But herein lies a problem: I don’t want to deal with hardcore gigabrain multiplanet megaprojects, resilient to bug waves and supply shutdowns. Instead, I want to relax on a beach and fiddle around with a few belts and wires, making them look nice. While also contributing to a production chain. Less is more.
And that’s what Satisfactory does in droves. It is serene. You are never in a rush, nor in a danger. Whatever you built, will work forever, undisturbed and safe, with all the pretty bits you’ve put on it, and all the amazing scenery around it. And I love it.
It’s hard to explain in a simple Steam review how great a game this is and how much I love it. If you are interested in factory building themed games, don’t look at them thinking “there is such a thing”. If you have the opportunity, definitely buy it and try it. I guarantee that it will be one of your favorite works in this category.
In addition to the fact that the game is a very successful production, I think the jewel in the crown is that it was made by a hard-working and honest company like Coffe Stain, which cares about its audience. I congratulate Coffe Stain for making this game, which was so acclaimed that it earned them the Golden Joystick award, and for bringing such a gem to the industry. And I personally thank you.
