First look at Lions, the new series from Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gadd

HBO Max has unveiled a fresh set of stills from the highly anticipated limited series Half Man. The project is written, created by, and stars Richard Gadd, the visionary talent behind the global phenomenon Baby Reindeer.

The narrative explores the intricate and evolving bond between two friends, Ruben and Niall, tracing their connection from the 1980s through to the present day. Gadd has described the series as a poignant and raw examination of the complexities surrounding toxic masculinity.

Joining Gadd in a leading role is Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot). The protagonists’ younger years are portrayed by Stuart Campbell and Mitchell Robertson. Several episodes are helmed by director Alexandra Brodski (Rivals). Half Man is scheduled to make its debut this April.

Gadd’s previous work, Baby Reindeer, premiered on Netflix in early 2024, rapidly ascending to become one of the platform’s most decorated hits and earning Gadd multiple Emmy and Golden Globe accolades.
