First Images of the Friday the 13th Prequel Revealed

Streaming service Peacock and studio A24 have pulled back the curtain on “Crystal Lake,” offering a first glimpse into the highly anticipated prequel series. Expanding on the legendary “Friday the 13th” slasher mythos, the project is slated for release later this year.

The narrative is set in the 1970s, centering on a young Jason Voorhees (played by Callum Vinson) and his mother, Pamela (portrayed by Linda Cardellini), as they reside in the quiet town of Crystal Lake. The show chronicles the aftermath of Jason’s tragic accident, tracing Pamela’s harrowing psychological unraveling and her eventual transformation into a notorious killer.

The series is helmed by Brad Kane, known for his work on “Tokyo Vice.” The inaugural season will consist of eight episodes, with a specific premiere date to be announced in the near future.
