Two-time Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel) has been commissioned to craft the original score for The Social Reckoning. This highly anticipated follow-up to the 2010 masterpiece is scheduled to hit theaters this October.
The narrative focuses on the high-stakes internal whistleblowing scandals that rocked Meta’s flagship platform, Facebook. The production features a star-studded cast including Mikey Madison (Anora) and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear), with the pivotal role of Mark Zuckerberg portrayed by Jeremy Strong (Succession).
Aaron Sorkin returns to the director’s chair for Reckoning. Desplat, who recently garnered an Oscar nomination for his evocative work on Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, follows in the footsteps of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, whose revolutionary score for the original film earned them widespread critical acclaim and multiple awards.
