Pixar Is Working on Its First Musical

Pixar Animation Studios is reportedly venturing into uncharted territory with the development of its inaugural animated musical. According to The Wall Street Journal, this project marks a significant milestone for the acclaimed studio.

While the 2017 hit “Coco” was deeply rooted in musical elements, this upcoming venture will be the studio’s first full-fledged dive into the musical genre. Domee Shi, the visionary director behind “Turning Red,” is set to helm the untitled film. Narrative specifics and plot details are currently being kept under wraps.

In addition to this new musical, Pixar is also expanding its existing franchises with a sequel to “Coco” and a third installment in the “Monsters, Inc.” series. Furthermore, the studio is moving forward with Ono Ghost Market, an original animated feature drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of Asian mythology.
