The annual Writers Guild of America (WGA) Awards ceremony took place in New York City, honoring the year’s most exceptional storytelling. The night’s most prestigious accolades were claimed by “Sinners” and “The Battle of Baktan Cross.”
Ryan Coogler, the mastermind behind “Sinners,” secured the award for Best Original Screenplay. His script triumphed over a competitive field that included “Marty Supreme,” “Weapons,” “Black Bag,” and “I’d Kick You If I Could.”
In the Best Adapted Screenplay category, Paul Thomas Anderson emerged victorious for “The Battle of Baktan Cross,” which he adapted from Thomas Pynchon’s novel “Vineland.” The film edged out notable contenders such as “Bugonia,” “Hamnet,” “Train Dreams,” and “Frankenstein.”
On the television front, top honors were bestowed upon the series “Pitt,” “The Studio,” and “Dying for Sex.”
