Anya Taylor-Joy, the celebrated star of The Queen’s Gambit and Furiosa, is reportedly in talks to join the cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum. This information stems from Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman.
While specific details regarding her role remain under wraps, Richtman also noted that Leo Woodall (The White Lotus, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy) is being eyed for the role of a young Aragorn. The narrative is set twenty years prior to the events of The Fellowship of the Ring, centering on Aragorn’s mission to track down Gollum on behalf of Gandalf.
The production of The Hunt for Gollum is expected to feature the return of franchise veterans Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins), Ian McKellen (Gandalf), and Andy Serkis (Gollum). Serkis will also serve as the film’s director, with a theatrical release currently targeted for 2027.
In addition to her potential journey to Middle-earth, Taylor-Joy is slated to appear in the third Dune installment. Furthermore, a new project featuring the actress is scheduled to debut on Apple TV+ this July.
