Here’s How ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ Performed in Its Sixth Week Compared to Taylor Swift’s Original ‘Fearless’

As Taylor Swift’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) enjoys its sixth frame on the Billboard 200 in the most recent chart week, we’re taking one more look at how the re-recorded album — the first in a six-album project that the pop superstar first announced in 2019 — has performed when comparing its weekly listenership to the original Fearless, which helped make Swift a superstar upon its 2008 release and won the Grammy for album of the year.

On this week’s Billboard 200, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) slips to No. 35, down from No. 19 on last week’s tally. The re-recorded set earned 17,000 equivalent album units for the chart week dated May 29, according to MRC Data, a drop-off from 20,000 equivalent album units in the previous chart week.

Meanwhile, the original Fearless also dips in equivalent album units earned, with 4,500 in the most recent chart week; the album had earned 5,000 equivalent album units in each of the four previous chart frames. Here’s a visual comparison of how Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Fearless have performed in equivalent album units over the past six chart weeks:

As noted, Swift’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) benefits from fan interest in the first-of-its-kind project, as well as the six “From The Vault” tracks that were included on its track list. Swift has already stated that she’s hard at work on her next re-recorded album to follow Fearless.

In the meantime, Swift scored a songwriting credit on Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour album — read all about how it happened here.
