Taylor Swift’s Been ‘In the Studio All Day’ as ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ Arrives at No. 1 on the Billboard 200
While 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)' makes its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Taylor Swift is literally in the studio recording another album.
What a time to be a Taylor Swift fan: While Fearless (Taylor’s Version) makes its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it her third new No. 1 album in less than a year, Swift is literally in the studio recording another album.
“Been in the studio all day recording the next one – it’s really so amazing what you all have done here,” Swift wrote on Sunday (April 18) as she retweeted and reacted to Billboard‘s report that her re-recording of Fearless launched at No. 1 with 291,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending April 15, according to MRC Data.
More than 12 years after Swift had her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with the original Fearless, the new Fearless (Taylor’s Version) has become her ninth No. 1. And, among its accomplishments, it’s the only No. 1 album of its kind: a re-recording of an artist’s (own or another’s) previously released album.
Swift seems to be celebrating her latest accomplishment by continuing to power through re-recording her catalog.
Although she has not confirmed which studio album release is next on her list, sleuthing Swifties are convinced she dropped several hints pointing toward re-recording 1989 on her appearance on The Late Show With (Hey) Stephen Colbert.
A recently published Billboard poll revealed that, as of Sunday afternoon, fans are most excited to hear the re-recorded version of “Style” off of 1989.
