GTA 6: Numerous Missed Deadlines, Less Transphobia, and a Release Prediction Schreier on GTA 6 Today at 15:30

This week, Jason Schreier paid notable attention to GTA 6. While it’s hard to say he revealed anything entirely new or previously unknown, let’s review the key points.

In a new article on bloomberg.com, he shared the following.

  • “Development on GTA 6 started about ten years ago, but they only really began working on it seriously after the release of RDR 2.” Well, that’s standard practice for Rockstar Games.
  • “R* asked its writers to be less harsh with transgender people and other minorities who were previously mocked constantly.” Almost three years ago, with the release of GTA 5 on new consoles, trans NPCs were removed from the game, making it clear that the company now avoids such topics. The shift to a more progressive agenda has become the norm. Remember the censorship in the reissue of the “Trilogy” or their support for the BLM movement… by shutting down the GTA Online and Red Dead Online servers for two hours in 2020.
  • “The game will have its own ‘Online,’ which is expected to generate revenue for many years, just like its predecessor.” Well, who would have doubted?
  • “GTA 6 has already missed numerous deadlines.” It seems the “rock stars” truly strive for perfection.

Additionally, the journalist appeared on the KindaFunnyGames show, where he shared his thoughts on the release date of GTA 6:

I would be shocked if it comes out next year. Rockstar games are constantly delayed. In 2016, I was in Poland at the CD Projekt Red studio when the first RDR 2 trailer was released, announcing a fall 2017 release. I turned to the developers and said, “I hope you’re not planning to release Cyberpunk 2077 then.” Eventually, Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed first to spring 2018 and then to fall. That was six years ago, and games have only become more complex. Right now, Take-Two says they are still aiming for fall 2025, but we’ll see if that changes in a few months.

For over a year now, we have held the same opinion as such a reputable source. Be cautious with your expectations.
