The Hollywood Reporter has conducted an exclusive interview with Harvey Weinstein, marking the disgraced producer’s first formal conversation since his incarceration began.
Weinstein, currently serving time for multiple sexual assault convictions, is being held at Rikers Island in New York. He characterized the facility as “living hell,” alleging that he has already been physically assaulted by a fellow inmate.
“Being here at Rikers is agonizing because I am forced into total isolation. It is simply too hazardous for me to be near the general population. While other prisoners are allowed out into the yard, I feel like I am under siege every time I step out. They approach me demanding money or access to my attorneys. It is a constant barrage of threats and ridicule,” he lamented.
During the discussion, Weinstein also lashed out at Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, and Ashley Judd for their public testimonies against him. Paltrow previously detailed an encounter where Weinstein allegedly solicited an intimate massage; following the incident, her then-boyfriend Brad Pitt reportedly threatened to kill the producer if he ever touched her again.
“They were merely embellishing their stories to feel included. They wanted to be part of the club, and in the process, they destroyed me,” Weinstein claimed.
In addition to his New York sentence, the producer was handed a 16-year prison term in Los Angeles. Recent medical reports also indicate he has been diagnosed with bone marrow cancer.
