Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a new update called Patch 1.62 for PC users. This update introduces a preview of Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode for powerful computers.
We partnered with NVIDIA to create a new way of displaying graphics in the game, called Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode. It’s very advanced, but since it’s so new, there might be some issues. That’s why we’re calling it a “Technology Preview.” We will keep working to make it better.
To use the Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode, you need a high-quality NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series (4070 Ti and up) graphics card, or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 (1080p, 30 fps). Because it needs a lot of power, it is turned off by default.
If you have a different graphics card that supports ray tracing and has at least 8GB VRAM, you can still use this new technology to take screenshots in Photo Mode. This is possible because it only needs to create one image, not several per second like when playing the game.
Сhanges in Patch 1.62:
- Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode – Added a new graphics setting that you can turn on in the game’s settings. Make sure to update your NVIDIA Game Ready Driver to version 531.41.
- Photo Mode – Added an option to use Ray Tracing for screenshots if your graphics card has at least 8GB VRAM. Lower your game’s resolution if the option is greyed out.
- DLAA – Added a new NVIDIA feature to improve image quality. You need an NVIDIA RTX graphics card to use it.
- Intel XeSS – Added support for a new Intel technology that makes the game look better and run faster. You can turn it on in the game’s settings.
- Benchmark Improvements – The game’s benchmark tool now shows more information about your computer and game settings.
