Zac Brown and Joe Walsh Join The Voice Season 28 as Mega Mentors
By Tyler Lord

Three-time Grammy winner Zac Brown and Eagles guitarist and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Joe Walsh will serve as Mega Mentors on season 28 of NBC’s The Voice. Both artists will provide hands-on guidance as contestants advance into the Knockouts.
Brown will mentor singers on teams coached by Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg, while Walsh will advise contestants on the teams led by Niall Horan and Reba McEntire. Their mentorship will take place ahead of the Knockouts, which begin on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025.
In the Knockouts, each coach starts with eight artists. There are no saves or steals at this stage; coaches must select one performer from their roster to move forward to the Playoffs, the last pre-live round. This season also features a “mic drop” element: each coach may designate one standout performance from their team, sending that artist into a viewers’ vote. Among the four mic-drop nominees, the public will choose a winner who will receive a special performance slot at The Rose Parade Presented by Honda on Jan. 1, 2026.
Brown’s tenure with the Zac Brown Band has been marked by consistent commercial success—five consecutive albums have debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. In December 2025 the group will become the first country act to mount a residency at the Las Vegas Sphere with their “Love & Fear at Sphere” engagement, named after their forthcoming album Love & Fear, due Dec. 5, 2025.
Walsh’s five-decade career began with the James Gang in 1969, continued with the trio Barnstorm and then a solo run before he joined the Eagles in 1975. Alongside the band he helped create enduring rock standards and contributed to the Eagles’ 1994 live comeback Hell Freezes Over, which reached the top of the Billboard 200. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, and the group’s Sphere dates in Las Vegas extend into 2026.
The Voice airs Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC and is available to stream the following day on Peacock.
