While Paradox and developer Colossal Order have yet to release actual gameplay footage for the title, we do have some hints as to how Cities Skylines 2 gameplay will be an evolution over the original title. It’s dubbed the “most sensible city home builder – ever before” on its Steam page, where it also mentions “brand-new legendary range”. That’s backed up by the Cities Skylines 2 achievements that have leaked, which state that you’ll be able to utilize 150 map tiles in a single city, rather than the nine from the original game. There’s also mentions of hailstorms, tornados, and forest fires – some of which were only available via DLC packs for the original game. You’ll also be able to “Follow a person’s lifepath from childhood years to aging”, which certainly suggests a depth of simulation much greater than the OG Cities Skylines.

“With extraordinary quantities of modification and also gamer control, Cities: Skylines 2 will certainly remain to press borders for the city-building franchise business,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive.

The official press release states that you’ll be able to experience the managing of everything from individual households to the transport and economy systems of the city, including plenty of construction and customization options, and “progressed modding capacities”. It goes on to say this will be the “most flexible city-building sandbox on earth”, so rather soaring objectives right here.

Will Cities Skylines 2 multiplayer exist?

There are presently no strategies to make a Cities: Skylines 2 multiplayer setting.

In March, Colossal Order published a little Q&A on the studio’s official Twitter account. In feedback to an inquiry asking whether there would certainly be range to include multiplayer, the devs stated: “Adding multiplayer assistance takes an amazing quantity of time and also sources that would certainly remove from developing the core gamer experience we are aiming to develop”. So it’s safe to say we won’t be seeing multiplayer come to Cities: Skylines 2.

While clever players of the original game have modded in multiplayer support, we will note that it’s never been an official feature of the Cities Skylines series.

Cities Skylines is one of the ideal Xbox Game Pass games to play while we cross our fingers for even more information on its follow up, with any luck throughout Summer Game Fest 2023.
