Electronic Arts and developer DICE will reveal the next game in the Battlefield series on Wednesday at 11 a.m. EDT/8 a.m. PDT. You can watch that reveal live right here, via YouTube. A countdown will precede the reveal.
EA has divulged little about the direction of this year’s Battlefield entry, colloquially referred to as Battlefield 6, but rumors and leaks point to a modern-day first-person shooter. Oskar Gabrielson, general manager at DICE, has called the sequel “a bold step” for the franchise.
In April, DICE teased an imminent reveal of the game. Gabrielson said that the franchise’s “biggest team ever” — DICE’s studios in Gothenburg and Los Angeles are joined by Criterion Games this time — will deliver “a jaw-dropping experience for you to enjoy later in 2021.”
“I can tell you it is a bold step,” Gabrielson said. “It has everything we love about Battlefield — and takes all of it to the next level. Epic scale. All-out military warfare. Crazy, unexpected moments. Game-changing destruction. Massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before. All brought to life with the power of next-gen consoles and PCs.”
Polygon will have more on Battlefield following the reveal of the game.
