DC Fandome, DC Entertainment’s streaming fan event, returns on Oct. 16. In the announced schedule, Warner Bros. Pictures promises a new trailer for The Batman, along with glimpses of other 2022 releases like Black Adam, The Flash, and Aquaman 2 (aka Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom). Along with the DC movies, the lineup promises new looks at upcoming comics, games, and animated projects.

Scheduled to make a second bow at DC Fandome are Gotham Knights, the Bat Family ensemble action game coming in 2022 from WB Games Montréal, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, by Rocksteady Studios, makers of the highly acclaimed Batman: Arkham series of games. Suicide Squad was first revealed in 2020, when the curtain likewise raised on Gotham Knights. But Gotham Knights, originally expected this year, got delayed into 2022 back in March. Both games are coming for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X (with Gotham Knights also launching on PS4 and Xbox One).

Here’s what else is lined up for the event:

  • DC Publishing has a celebration of Wonder Woman on deck, spotlighting three upcoming books. The Batman-Fortnite comics crossover event will also get an update. In the weeks leading up to DC FanDome, DC Universe Infinite will make more than 300 comics and graphic novels free to read for anyone who registers an account with the subscription service. The free titles include Injustice: Gods Among Us Vol. 1, as well as the complete storyline of Flashpoint.

The first FanDome, held in August 2020, was held as a way for DC to share news and previews of big name films and events during the global COVID-19 pandemic. That event’s success means it’s coming back, apparently as an annual online expo, with all the bells, whistles, and announcements that entails. A news release from DC boasted of 22 million viewers, globally, with another 150 million views of trailer content coming from last year’s gala.

DC FanDome 2021 will be free to everyone, and can be followed at the event’s official website as well as through DC Comics’ official channels on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.
