Team Fortress 2 Update from October 25, 2024

A new update for Team Fortress 2 has been released. This update will be applied automatically once you restart the game. The key changes are as follows:

  • Reverted the BLU Scout pants fix due to conflicts with several existing cosmetics.
  • Updated the Fleet Commander again to resolve import issues from the last update.
  • Modified the Phantom Plague and Haunting Haze Unusual effects to correct their sometimes incorrect spawning location.
  • Updates to cp_freaky_fair:
    • Addressed issues related to game mode logic:
      • Reimplemented a check that verifies if a player is actively purchasing upgrades at a station.
      • Introduced a custom system to refund upgrades, aiming to resolve inconsistencies both within a round and across different rounds.
      • Implemented logic to address mismatches in recorded versus actual currency values when exiting the upgrade trigger without accepting de-bought upgrades.
      • Reverted code concerning Ghosts and Sentry Busters to fix bugs preventing their effects from being properly removed.
      • Added a mechanism to forcibly eliminate players in specific cases where surviving as a Sentry Buster past their explosion was possible (Thanks MilkMaster!).
      • Enhanced the logic that checks the application of new potion effects to prevent overlapping issues.
      • Fixed issues with sniper and demo shields not correctly resetting upgrades.
      • Resolved issues with canteens not clearing their values during refunds when not equipped.
    • Increased the skybox height.
    • Adjusted the capture time for the last point from 6 seconds to 7 seconds.
    • Modified some clipping to prevent giants from building on rooftops.
    • Smoothed out a surface irregularity (Thanks Midnite!).
  • Updates to zi_atoll, zi_blazehattan, zi_devastation_final1, zi_murky, zi_sanitarium, and zi_woods:
    • General Improvements:
      • Re-encoded all Zombie Infection sound effects to .WAV format:
        • This resolves issues with sound effects not playing correctly and causing errors in the console.
    • Bug Fixes:
      • Fixed a bug where Sniper’s Spit Pool inflicted more damage than intended.
      • Resolved a bug causing team names to display incorrectly in mp_tournament mode.
      • Fixed an issue where the Engineer sometimes screamed like a charging Demoman while throwing an EMP Grenade.
    • Zombie Updates:
      • Sniper’s Spit Pool damage against Survivors no longer stacks when standing in multiple zones.
      • Removed Zombie Heavy’s immunity to Critical Hits.
      • Increased Zombie Heavy’s maximum health to 525 (from 450).
      • Increased Zombie Pyro’s maximum health to 250 (from 175).
      • Zombie Pyro now drops a medium health kit upon death.
    • Survivor Updates:
      • Crossbow weapons no longer receive a flat damage multiplier against Zombies.
      • The B.A.S.E Jumper can no longer be deployed by the last three survivors.
      • Jumper Weapons can no longer store reserve ammunition.
    • Additional updates to zi_murky:
      • Added more respawn room triggers around the new spawn zones.
