What if a Sunset Overdrive 2 saw the light of day on PS5? In any case, this is what Sony Interactive Entertainment suggests which, last month, filed the trademark “Sunset Overdrive” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. As a reminder, Sunset Overdrive (developed by Insomniac Games which, in 2019, was acquired by Sony) was released in 2014 on Xbox One and in 2018 on PC; and if the game should remain a Microsoft exclusive, on the other hand, the studio recently clarified on Twitter that the license did indeed belong to it.

Suddenly, the possibility of seeing a sequel land on PS5 has grown, even if filing a mark does not necessarily mean that projects will follow behind.
