Stars have announced From Capelton Hill, their first album in five years, with two new songs, “Pretenders” and “Snowy Owl.” The LP is set to drop on May 27 (via Last Gang/MNRK). The band is also set to head out on a West Coast tour in June. Check out “Pretenders,” “Snowy Owl,” and the full list of dates below.

In a press release, Stars’ Amy Milian said “Pretenders” is a “love letter” to bandmate Torquil Campbell and also her own memories of the band’s origins. Of “Snowy Owl,” in which the two trade verses as different characters in a doomed relationship, Campbell said, “I don’t know what comes after. I just make records about other people and in the end, they turn out to be about me.”

Stars released their last album, There Is No Love in Fluorescent Light, in 2017. In 2019, they shared a greatest hits collection called LaGuardia.
