Fans who are still hesitant about in-person concerts have another way to enjoy their favorite artists thanks to Spotify. Starting May 27, Spotify is providing fans with intimate concert experiences in partnership with Driift.
The Black Keys will kick off the series with a performance from one of their favorite juke joints, Blue Front Café in Mississippi. The five shows will all be ticketed through online platform Driift and range from 40-75 minute sets of new material and fan favorites.
“We have always been a band that loves to play live in venues of all shapes and sizes,” said The Black Keys in a release. “The past year has been tough for musicians and fans alike, so we wanted to find a way to share this live performance of songs from our new project, Delta Kream, from a place we love, the Blue Front Café, the oldest active juke joint in America. We’re excited to be a part of this new initiative with Spotify that will give fans a great way to connect with their favorite artists.”
Other participating artists include Rag’n’Bone Man from the Roundhouse in London, Bleachers on a city bus from New York to New Jersey, Leon Bridges at the Gold-Diggers Hotel in Los Angeles and girl in red from Oslo. Spotify will notify fans on the concerts based on their listening history. Fans of The Black Keys, for example, will start to receive notifications on May 19 for the performance taking place on May 27.
“I’m excited to collaborate with Spotify on this intimate concert experience that will feature songs from across my catalog, including a few tunes from my new album, Gold-Diggers Sound,” said Leon Bridges in a release. “I’ve truly missed seeing my fans around the world this year, and we are working hard to bring the concert experience to your home, thanks to Spotify.”
