Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is Dark Souls with a Biblical contact

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is a brand new recreation from Hong Kong-based studio Dark Star, taking inspiration from from Dark Souls, and Shadow of the Colossus.

The recreation was formally revealed this week by writer Another Indie Studio. The workforce behind it, Dark Star, is made up of ex-Ubisoft, Konami, and Blizzard builders.

Sinner’s setup could be very attention-grabbing (through PCGamer). It appears to be like like a boss rush recreation with Dark Souls-style baddies, although some resemble Shadow of the Colossus greater than Dark Souls. Each boss represents one of many seven lethal sins, and defeating them is the one approach for redemption.

That’s not all, although, because the hero should decide an attribute to degree down earlier than every battle, making him weaker. This is a part of the sport’s sacrifice mechanic.

“The action is framed by a desolate afterlife in which Adam seeks to restore his memories and atone for his sins. How he interacts with each boss will ultimately decide his fate in one of multiple endings,” the sport’s pitch reads.

Apart from the announcement trailer above, off-screen footage of the sport made its way online lately. It positively does look so much like Souls right here, even right down to the lock on icon.

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is out in Q1 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It’ll be playable at Gamescom subsequent month, and PAX West in September.
