Silent Hill: its creator Keiichiro Toyama unveils the first images of his new game

Former pillar of the Sony Japan Studio team, Keiichiro Toyama cut his teeth at Konami by creating the very first Silent Hill, which became a monument of survival horror in 1999 on the first PlayStation. Hired by Sony thereafter, he is also at the origin of the Forbidden Siren saga which had three episodes in total, to then completely change the atmosphere by creating the two episodes of Gravity Rush. Despite a warm reception from the press, the public did not follow, so the second episode was a rather stinging commercial failure. We were in January 2017. Demotivated, Keiichiro Toyama moved away from video games a bit before returning with his own studio, Bokeh Game Studio, founded last year and made official on December 3, 2020. His first project, which we do not do not know the name yet, is supposed to be an action-adventure game. It is thanks to an interview posted on the studio’s YouTube channel that we can discover the first images of the game. These are fairly explicit concept art, since they reveal to us that Keiichiro Toyama has decided to return to his first loves, namely the horror game.

You only have to look at these first preparatory sketches to realize that the game designer still has something to do with disgusting monsters. We see insectoid creatures emerging from shredded human bodies, sometimes reminiscent of the effects of Cordyceps we had or discovering the full extent in The Last of Us game. Other images reveal a male character, hood over his head and katana in the back, which could be the main character. We see him stand in front of a city reminiscent of Hong Kong with its cramped and colorful buildings, not to mention the plane passing over the buildings just before landing. This is enough to make us wait before the official and complete reveal of this game which looks promising on paper.
