Country icon Reba McEntire knows that the long, hard COVID-19 lockdown has been emotionally taxing for everyone. But in a 30-minute TikTok livestream over the weekend, she revealed that it’s definitely too early to just go back to normal right now, and that she and her boyfriend, Max Linn, both tested positive for the novel coronavirus despite being vaccinated.
“I just want to say one thing: This has been a hard year, and it’s getting rougher again,” McEntire said in the video, in which she mused about her early morning coffee sessions, her beloved screened-in porch and the variety of wildlife around her home. “We’re just gonna move forward and keep praying that everyone stays safe and healthy and wear your mask. And just be safe … You guys, please stay safe. Wear your mask. Do what you have to do. Stay home.”
McEntire said it’s definitely “not fun” to get COVID. “Rex and I got it, and it’s not fun. You don’t feel good. We were both vaccinated, and we still got it, so stay safe, stay home, and be protected the best you can.”
As for what her touring plans are, McEntire said she had no idea because the more contagious Delta variant is spiking all over the country after it quickly became the most dominant strain in the U.S. in July. “We have plans right now to go back on tour in January, February and March,” McEntire, 65, said. “We have plans with being with Brooks & Dunn at Caesars in December — the first two weeks, almost three weeks of December — but we don’t know if that’s going to go.”
