Rainbow Six Siege and its aggressive meta have modified an amazing deal over the three years because the game was launched, and maps like Favela, House, and Plane no lengthy swimsuit the techniques at present favoured by gamers. All three of those maps have been excluded from ranked play for just a few seasons now, with Ubisoft even eradicating Favela from informal playlists.
With the latest rework to Hereford, many followers have questioned if these maps would quickly turn out to be the goal of an entire map overhaul. According to Rainbow Six Siege’s game designer Leroy Athanassoff, who we spoke with on the Six Major Paris, that’s not going to be the case. “There are maps like House and Plane, which are really just flavour maps, they are hard to rework without losing the full soul of the map.”
However, when questioned about Favela particularly, Athanassoff was a bit extra hopeful. “Favela is an in-between map. You can see the [competitive] potential, but at the same time there is a lot of flavour, a lot of destructibility, so it’s a tough call for now and we are not sure yet.”
So a map rework for Favela isn’t out of the query, however it doesn’t sound like it is going to come any time quickly. Favela has been a divisive map because it was added as a part of the Operation Skull Rain replace with its prevalence of destructible surfaces making it very powerful to defend, so maybe it may very well be prepared for aggressive play with just a few extra strong surfaces.
