Starfield update of September 13, 2023: fixes and new features

Huge appreciation to every Starfield player out there – your passion for the game has overwhelmed us. We’re all ears to your feedback, suggestions, and things you’d love to see in future updates. Even if we can’t incorporate your suggestions right away, like city maps, they’re on our radar. At the outset, our aim is to squash critical bugs and bring in features that enhance your gameplay experience.

The immediate update is a minor hotfix focusing on the primary issues we’ve observed. In the coming days, expect regular updates introducing features highly requested by our community, such as:

  • Brightness & Contrast adjustments.
  • HDR Calibration Settings.
  • Field-of-View Slider.
  • Nvidia DLSS for PC.
  • 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor compatibility for PC.
  • A direct ‘Eat’ option for food items.

On the tech side, we’re collaborating with giants like Nvidia, AMD, and Intel to optimize driver support, ensuring each update elevates game stability and performance.

As for mod support, we’re developing our integrated mod system (“Creations”) to be compatible across platforms, similar to our work with Skyrim and Fallout 4. The full rollout of this feature is anticipated early next year. We’re aware of the vibrant modding activities within our PC community. If you have insights on refining this, we’re all ears. Modding remains a core part of our identity, and the enthusiasm we’ve seen from the community is heartening.

Keep those comments flowing – we genuinely value them. Once again, thank you for being part of this Starfield odyssey!

Warm regards, Bethesda Game Studios
