The skilled Overwatch League now has segments for amateurs.
Blizzard is increasing the Overwatch Pro League to incorporate new segments for aspiring professional gamers.
Called Overwatch Contenders, the event league kicks off this summer season within the US, and Europe. The thought is to create a pool of aggressive gamers who will compete with each other to impress organisers who will decide the wonderful few for the large league.
This season (Season Zero) will begin off online-only, with qualifiers figuring out the highest eight groups in each the US, and Europe. Each area’s tournaments can have a shared prize pool of $50,000.
The prime six groups in North America will probably be joined by groups Envy, and Rogue for six weeks of “round-robin play” in Season One of the Contenders. The prime 4 groups will go on to play in an offline-only bracket with a prize purse value $100,000.
Beyond the Contenders, Blizzard may even be internet hosting the Overwatch Open Division. This sequence goals to supply a path in direction of the Contenders. Blizzard promised to disclose extra concerning the Open Division signups quickly.
