2K has sent us an official press release in which it announces the deployment of a new update on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5. In addition to correcting residual bugs, the patch is responsible for balancing gameplay and improving “The City”, “My CAREER”, “My NBA” and “The W” modes. For those who did not know, we recall that Season 3 (Season of Giving) of “My Team” started two days ago, and that it incorporates new players, challenges, as well as new rewards.
NBA 2K21 is available not only on previous generation consoles, but also on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
NEW PATCH XBOX SERIES S, XBOX SERIES X, PS5
GENERAL
- Continued improvement of the lower level of all NBA halls.
- Addressed a rare issue that occurred when using a face scan downloaded from the MyNBA2K app.
- Added a new sponsor patch to the Boston Celtics outfit.
- Updated New York Liberty logo.
- Reflection attenuated on the glasses of coaches and players.
- Improvement of the hair physics of the dancers.
- Resolved an issue with the Atlanta Hawks mascot tail.

GAMEPLAY
- A new option to change the color of the shot gauge has been added.
- The frequency of post-contact dunks and alley-oops has been slightly reduced.
- Numerous improvements to movements, including force passing animations, v-cuts, sprints, throws and dribbles.
- Various improvements to triple threat animations and station behaviors.
- Improved double-step selection for AI near the basket.
- The Green Giant Badge will now display correctly on the ATH when activated.
- Changes to prevent alley-oops from being launched from behind the panel.
- The accuracy of free throws has been slightly improved.
THE CITY
- Improved City performance, especially during a match.
- Improved and added various buildings / objects / landscapes / lighting in the City.
- Match summaries on Affiliate Grounds will now remind you that matches played outside of your Affiliate Grounds grant 50% less reputation.
- Addressed an issue with progression not being retained in the Rec when all players on the opposing team quit.
- Fixed an issue in Pro-Am where players would sometimes become invisible.
- Now only friends who are currently playing NBA 2K21 appear on the phone.
- A button has been added to allow players to invite friends directly from their friends list on the phone.
- A second set of Affiliate Outfits has been added to the affected stores.
- Improvements to the City map.
- Addressed various issues with the try-on feature in some stores.
- Added a new storefront for the New Balance store in the City.
- Addressed a rare issue that occurred when the player was waiting in the Pro-Am Lobby when returning from Rec.
- Fixed lowrider alignment issues.
- Opponent’s Strength bonus now appears in the summary following Pro-Am matches.
- Pro-Am socks now respect the height chosen by the player.
- Fixed an issue with Garage Hoops Elimination Mode that would occur when multiple players were participating.
- Players are no longer excluded from the match if they remain stationary during team building during matches at Garage Hoops.
- Fixed an issue where players would sometimes disappear after matches at Garage Hoops and Gatorade Rental Lots.
My career
- The difficulty bonus for CVs and My POINTS / Insignia progress now correctly displays on the summary screen after MyCAREER matches.
- Physical attributes are now properly upgraded from general level 95 to general level 99.
- Addressed a rare issue that occurred when the user tried to load their MyCAREER save while an update was available.
- Fixed some issues relating to Interested Universities that could occur in High School, in Legacy.
- Improvements to the post-game crowd at the end of NBA games in MyCAREER.
- 2K Beats songs that have been disabled by the user will no longer be played when the user returns to the MyCAREER home page.
My NBA
- Addressed a squad control issue that occurred before G League games started in My NBA.
- Players will now receive VCs when playing G League matches in My NBA.
- Addressed an issue that occurred when a Versatile player then assigned to the G League became a Free Agent.
- Addressed an issue that could occur when a user attempted to access specific notifications from the main menu.
- You can now select teams from the Team Info and President Info pages while creating My NBA / My WNBA.
- Handing over the ring and revealing the banner will now proceed correctly.
- Fixed an issue that would sometimes occur in the Individual Training menu when the user was changing a player’s priority.
- The WNBA’s play-off mode will now kick off properly in 2021.
- Improvements to stability and overall experience.
The W
- Addressed a rare issue that sometimes caused the MyPLAYER character to be invisible in The W.
- Popularity now properly increases when the user completes a The W match online.
- Fixed an issue with some animations that were sometimes improperly equipped by default and did not offer a preview during selection.
