Artists dipping their toes into sports ownership is quite common in the industry, including big names such as Jay-Z, who formerly held a stake in the Brooklyn Nets, and Justin Timberlake, a minority owner of Memphis Grizzlies, to name a few.
A few Latin artists have also hopped on the bandwagon.
This week, Bad Bunny announced that he is a co-owner of Puerto Rico’s basketball team Los Cangrejeros de Santurce, which was founded in 1918 and has won eight championships.
Below, check out some Latin music star sports owners.

The Puerto Rican superstar, alongside Rimas’ Jonathan Miranda and Noah Assad, has been named partner of the renewed franchise, which also announced a revamped team and image.
“The main purpose and commitment of this initiative are to help foster positive change on the island,” noted an official statement. “The goal is to promote a better future through sports, music, and the arts. The main objective is to encourage ideas and dreams in Puerto Rican youth, which provoke an authentic and real social transformation.”
Gloria & Emilio Estefan
In 2009, power couple Gloria and Emilio Estefan became minority owners of the Miami Dolphins, becoming the first Cuban-Americans to hold an ownership stake in an NFL team.
“It’s our community. It’s the place where we live and love,” Estefan said in an interview with the NFL. “It’s people that have supported us through the years in our careers. So whatever we can do to be a part of that support for the Dolphins, then that’s what we’re going to do.”
Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony
That same year, then-married couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony also became minority owners of the Dolphins, receiving personalized jerseys with the numbers 16 and 24 in honor of their respective birthdays.
“What was interesting was you couldn’t help but be a Miami fan, it’s almost like America’s team,” said Anthony, according to The Sun-Sentinel. “Being born and raised here in New York, East Harlem, you’d think Jets or Giants, but you were always aware of the Miami Dolphins and what [Dan] Marino was doing.”
