In September 2017, the Canadian punk band Zex have been dropped from Magic Bullet Records after the label got here ahead claiming to have obtained a number of allegations accusing guitarist Jo Capitalcide of sexual assault. The subsequent month, Capitalcide denied the allegations and revealed he was submitting a defamation lawsuit towards the label. Now, Magic Bullet Records’ Brent Eyestone has retracted these allegations in a Facebook submit and revealed that the authorized battle has ended.
“Upon reflection, I hereby retract these allegations without reservation,” he wrote. “The statements that I made were unverified and I regret any impact such statements may have had on Capitalicide and Zex. I am also pleased to announce that the litigation commenced by Jo Capitalcide against Magic Bullet Records and me has been resolved and we have all agreed to put this matter behind us.”
Magic Bullet Records shut down at the end of 2017. Pitchfork has reached out to Capitalcide and Eyestone for additional remark.
