Jordan Schmidt rules Billboard‘s Country Producers chart (dated Aug. 21) for the first time, thanks to a trio of production credits on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Nelly and Florida Georgia Line’s “Lil Bit,” which Schmidt solely produced (and also co-wrote with FGL’s Tyler Hubbard, Nelly and Blake Redferrin), ranks at No. 4 on Hot Country Songs with 13.6 radio audience impressions, 10.1 million U.S. streams and 7,700 downloads sold, according to MRC Data.
Also contributing to Schmidt’s coronation is Ingrid Andress and Sam Hunt’s new duet “Wishful Drinking,” which debuts at No. 40 on Hot Country Songs (co-produced with Andress), and Mitchell Tenpenny’s “Truth About You,” at No. 49 (co-produced with Tenpenny).
Schmidt notched his first production credit on Hot Country Songs in 2018 via Tenpenny’s “Drunk Me.” He’s produced six additional entries. Here’s a chronological recap:

Three of Schmidt’s production credits have also scaled the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. “Drunk Me” reached No. 39, “Like a Rodeo” hit No. 90 and “Lil Bit” has risen to No. 23.
On the Country Songwriters chart, Ashley Gorley tallies a 17th week at No. 1, thanks to six writing credits on Hot Country Songs. Thomas Rhett’s “Country Again” places at No. 9 (having become Gorley’s 64th top 10 on the ranking as a writer), followed by Cole Swindell’s “Single Saturday Night” (No. 10), Chris Stapleton’s “You Should Probably Leave” (No. 18), Morgan Wallen’s “Sand in My Boots” (No. 30), HARDY’s “Give Heaven Some Hell” (No. 39) and Dan + Shay’s “Good Things” (No. 43).
Gorley is one week away from potentially tying for the most time spent at No. 1 on Country Songwriters, dating to the chart’s launch in 2019, as Blanco Brown leads with 18 weeks on top.
The weekly Country Songwriters and Country Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot Country Songs chart. As with Billboard’s yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).
