In its fifth chart frame, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Taylor Swift’s re-recording of her 2008 sophomore album, remains in the top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart. Meanwhile, we’re still keeping track of how the unprecedented No. 1 album — the first Billboard 200 chart-topper that’s a re-recorded version of an existing album — is performing as compared to the original version of Fearless, in terms of weekly listenership.
In its latest week on the Billboard 200, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) comes in at No. 19, down four spots from last week’s tally. The album earns 20,000 equivalent album units for the chart week dated May 22, according to MRC Data, down from 24,000 equivalent album units in the previous chart week.
The original Fearless, meanwhile, earns 5,000 equivalent album units during the latest chart week — the same equivalent album units figure as its three previous chart frames. As previously noted, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) has received a boost thanks to fan interest in the new project, as well as the six previously unreleased “From The Vault” songs on its track list, which have contributed to its equivalent album units totals. “Mr. Perfectly Fine” has been the highest-charting “From The Vault” track, peaking at No. 30 on the Hot 100.
Last week, Swift — who is hard at work on her next re-recorded album — earned the global icon trophy at the 2021 Brit Awards. Her acceptance made fans believe that they already know which of her first six albums will next get the re-recorded treatment to follow Fearless.
