During the event of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward explored the thought of getting a Zombies mode.
After a protracted stream of obligatory Zombies modes in Call of Duty games, Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward determined to buck the pattern and as a substitute reintroduce Spec Ops because the game’s solely co-op mode.
In the lead-up to Modern Warfare’s launch, marketing campaign gameplay director Jacob Minkoff stated the game’s realistic setting wouldn’t allow for Zombies to exist. But that hasn’t all the time been the case.
During the game’s growth, the studio requested its artists to think about how zombies might match the gritty setting the game is about in. Recently, principal artist Aaron Beck bought the go-ahead from Activision to point out off a few of that unused artwork.
As you may see, this might have been fairly the departure from Infinite Warfare’s retro-movie-themed romp, which wasn’t significantly properly acquired by Zombies followers.
“I was thinking it would be fun to play with the classic Call of Duty zombie gameplay, hinting here at some sort of Russian special forces soldier and his duo of quadruped robots, holding captive zombified soldiers by leashes around their necks,” Beck wrote within the Instagram publish accompanying the picture.
This 12 months’s Call of Duty, stated to be developed by Treyarch, will reportedly bring back Zombies.
