On the heels of Overwatch 2‘s very first significant equilibrium spot notes, lead hero developer Alec Dawson teased that future seasonal updates might see extra remarkable adjustments to some heroes.
“This is our first balance patch since the game’s been out,” Dawson claimed on a current Twitter Space stream (opens up in brand-new tab) accepted Overwatch League associate supervisor Matt Morello. “The way we’re approaching this is in sort of a minor and major cadence of patches, and this one would be considered one of those minor ones. Those are gonna be usually in the mid-cycle patches. They’re going to be reactive, looking at the first two weeks of a meta, seeing what’s performing at the top, see how we can make some adjustments along those lines. And a lot of those are going to be slight nerfs, tuning, numbers tweaks. Not a lot of reworks or anything like that.
“For significant ones, there’s gonna be much more adjustments therein,” Dawson continued. “I assume we’re mosting likely to be going into some periods where you might see a great deal extra lovers connected with heroes. Something that alters their rhythm, their gameplay loopholes, points of that nature. Possibly also some remodels down the line. And if we’re doing 4 adjustments below, I assume what you may see in a significant spot is mosting likely to be around 10, as well as a great deal of those are mosting likely to be positive. Those are gonna be points we’re dealing with not simply in the temporary responding to the meta – as well as there’s gonna be some adjustments like that – yet additionally some adjustments for points we see later on of exactly how we wish to perhaps transform several of the means a hero might really feel.”
