‘Fargo’ Star to Voice Garfield in New Animated Series

Streaming platform Paramount+ has officially greenlit the development of a brand-new 2D animated series centered on the world’s most cynical feline, Garfield. Emmy Award winner Lamorne Morris, acclaimed for his performances in Fargo and New Girl, has been tapped to provide the voice for the titular lasagna-loving cat.

The character’s last major television outing was Cartoon Network’s The Garfield Show, which enjoyed a run from 2009 to 2016. Beyond the small screen, Garfield has maintained a steady presence in cinema; Bill Murray voiced the character in the live-action/CGI hybrids of the early 2000s, while Chris Pratt most recently took on the role in the 2024 feature-length animated film.

An official release date for this upcoming episodic revival has not yet been disclosed.
