Principal photography for the latest iteration of The Exorcist has officially commenced in New York City. Acclaimed filmmaker Mike Flanagan, the visionary behind The Haunting of Hill House, is directing the project, which stars Scarlett Johansson in the lead role.
This upcoming chapter is set to deliver a fresh narrative, operating independently from the previous installments of the legendary horror franchise. Starring alongside Johansson is an impressive ensemble featuring Jacob Jupe, Diane Lane, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Laurence Fishburne.
The production also welcomes several of Flanagan’s frequent collaborators to the cast, including Carla Gugino, Samantha Sloyan, Kate Siegel, and Rahul Kohli. Universal Pictures has scheduled the film’s theatrical debut for March 12, 2027.
