Dragon Age 4: Electronic Arts would have decided to bet everything on the solo, new rumors

Always knowledgeable behind the scenes of the video game industry, Jason Schreier (Bloomberg) has managed to obtain new information on the development of Dragon 4. Indeed, according to various sources close to BioWare, Electronic Arts would have asked the Canadian studio to make a game dedicated exclusively to solo. However, since the beginning of its conception, this episode (whose final name is not yet known) revolved around multiplayer, which had also led to the departure of historical executives such as creative director Mike Laidlaw. Still according to these anonymous sources, the decision would be recent, and we do not know what will be its impact on the development of Dragon Age 4.

This umpteenth change of course would be the result of a reflection by Andrew Wilson (the boss of Electronic Arts), the latter having noted the critical and commercial success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (more than 10 million copies sold worldwide), and the failure of Anthem whose business was supposed to be multiplayer. Suddenly remembering that BioWare was good at solo experiences that he has yet criticized more than once, the American publisher would have considered it better for the Canadian studio to reconnect with its DNA.

We take this opportunity to remind you that BioWare is also at work on Mass Effect Legendary Edition (scheduled for May 14, 2021) and a brand new Mass Effect whose first trailer was unveiled at the Game Awards 2020.
