Demo version of mobile GTA: CW

Two weeks ago at paid GTA+ subscription turned on access to two mobile games, GTA: Liberty City Stories and GTA: Chinatown Wars. And everyone, without exception, was allowed to try them for half an hour.

Now on Google Play, price tags for Grand Theft Auto are exclusively for the not entirely original (remasters of 10 years ago) “Trilogy”, but this is probably for the time being until it is replaced GTA: Trilogy – Definitive Edition on iOS and Android, which will most likely suffer the same fate as GTA: LCS with GTA: CW.

The Android version of Chinatown Wars (weighing approximately half a gigabyte) is puzzling from the first click. Having requested a pass to enter the Social Club, a page appears with the terms of service, information about the license, etc. In the natural horizontal position for gaming, it is impossible to click the checkbox next to the “I accept” item – it is simply invisible, and scrolling down does not work. The vertical position already allows you to agree to the requirement, but the “Next” button is still hidden. Scaling in the phone settings menu helps solve this problem. Having set it to minimum, we get to the treasured Next. Then a menu appears with three options: “Unlock using GTA+”, “Try the game for 30 minutes” and “Buy for 180 hryvnia”.

If you passed GTA: Chinatown Wars or have seen others do it, then you know what awaits you. The only change will be the appearance of a decreasing orange bar at the top of the screen. It shows how much time is left. Clicking on it will open a line indicating the exact time. The countdown will stop when you close the application, but will continue if you minimize it. After expiration, you will be thrown back to offers to subscribe or purchase a product. In order not to waste precious seconds of gameplay, you can skip story cutscenes by holding your finger on the image. Next, you will have to get used to the controls, which will also take some time. In general, in the allotted half an hour, you can manage to complete several missions and, what is much more interesting, get acquainted with the cool mechanics of GTA: CW. Steal a car, have a chase with the cops, deal with the laptop computer in the menu, use scratch cards in the lottery, etc. And then decide for yourself whether it makes sense to shell out the full amount. Interestingly, the demo timer can be restarted by simply… deleting and downloading the game again. But you won’t be able to continue your progress – all previous saves will be lost along with the application. In theory, this can be bypassed, but it’s important if you want to start messing around with files and programs, rather than enjoying everything “here and now.” On the other hand, the trial version may be enough to pass the time and cause good old chaos on the city street, armed with cheat codes.

Regarding the demo version GTA: Liberty City Stories, then an amazing incident happened to her. Having downloaded 540 MB of data in the store, you need to download another 456, and only using Wi-Fi – it simply doesn’t want to via a mobile network.

There is a problem when launching a demo of mobile GTA: LCS, which downloads music exclusively via a wireless network.
