First game that opened hostilities during the State of Play on October 27, 2021, Deathverse: Let It Die is a Battle Royale set in the universe of Let it Die, a game signed Grasshopper Manufacture (Suda51) released in 2017 and which had its small success when it was released since it had recorded more than 7 million downloads all the same. It was a free-to-play, it is still useful to clarify. Faced with this success, the publisher GungHo ordered the production of a “sequel” with a different approach since it is a Battle Royale. To justify these bloody fights, the story of Deathverse: Let It Die is about Death Jamboree, a futuristic reality TV show where contestants compete for survival. As usual, each character has their own distinct look, but also their different abilities. If the game is intended to be nag, it will offer vertical gameplay, with the possibility of climbing walls to escape, or better to strike your opponent by surprise.
Since Grasshopper Manufacture was recently acquired by the Chinese from NetEase, another studio is in charge, a certain Supertrick Games, made up of former Grasshopper Manufacture employees who did not follow Suda51 in the transfer. History to be connected with the first Let it Die, this Deathverse will also be offered for free in free-to-play on PS4 and PS5 for spring 2022. We will see if the public will respond in mass as in 2017.
