It is on the occasion of the publication of a letter to its investors that Remedy Entertainment has made some new revelations around Control, its latest game. If we knew that the title had crossed the two million copies sold on the fixed date of December 2020, the Finnish studio explains that more than 10 million players had the opportunity to test their game. Obviously, 10 million players does not mean 10 million sales, but to this day, Control remains the biggest success of the creators of Max Payne who had been content with ever more sales. minimalist. For comparison, Alan Wake had sold 1.4 million copies while Quantum Break never revealed its sales figures, even if Microsoft was satisfied with the sales at the time. With the end of the exclusive contract with the American giant, Remedy Entertainment can therefore dream of greater sales volumes, since the studio has finally opened up to the more successful PlayStation market.
Still, the success of Control gave ideas to its creators, who signed a contract with 505 Games to develop a multiplayer spin-off for a budget of 25 million euros. But that’s not all, the Finnish studio would be working on 6 other projects and the next one, another AAA, would have gone into full production for an upcoming announcement and a release within 2 to 3 years. As of this writing, the studio has 293 hard-working employees.
