Nintendo gave fans a 2022 release date as well as a new teaser for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel as part of its E3 2021 Nintendo Direct on Tuesday.

While the new trailer showed all sorts of fun nuggets of gameplay — we got a closer look at Link’s new powers — we also got a peek at what Link will look like in the new game. At first glance, the biggest difference is that Link now has a cool, cybernetic arm with powers. However, if you look more closely, you’ll notice another fun detail that many fans are already pointing out: Link got a haircut, and it looks gorgeous.

Among the clips of the game shown in the trailer, there are two that stand out hair-wise. There’s the part that shows Link skydiving, hair flapping in the wind, and another moment when he runs through a field.

As we can see, Link’s typical blond hair looks different from before. It almost resembles a mullet, since it appears to be longer on the bottom and shorter on top. It blows around more and just overall looks more majestic in the wind. Also, it’s no longer tied up in any ponytail. He lets it fly free.

While Link’s appearance and hairstyle changes based on whatever armor you have equipped in the first Breath of the Wild, we didn’t really see his hair down like this. Usually it was styled up in some way, or tucked behind a headpiece like a hood or a mask. Even when you default to wearing no headwear, Link would still tie his hair up in a ponytail.

Now, fans can’t stop talking about Link’s luscious locks.

People are even making fan art of it.

It’s a fun touch, also because we get to see Zelda with short hair in a previous announcement of the game. So now, it’s like a fun little flip-flop. Link gets long hair, and Zelda gets short hair.
