Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper is set to write and direct the upcoming prequel to the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ franchise. In addition to his work behind the camera, Cooper will take on the lead role alongside Margot Robbie.
Previously, Lee Isaac Chung (‘Twisters’) was attached to the project but departed due to creative differences. The film’s narrative will reportedly center on the parents of Danny Ocean, the character made famous by George Clooney. Rumors suggest the heist will unfold across 1960s Europe under the Warner Bros. banner.
Cooper’s directorial portfolio includes the acclaimed ‘A Star Is Born’ remake, the biopic ‘Maestro,’ and his recent dramedy ‘Is This Thing On?’. Parallel to this prequel, a new ‘Ocean’s’ sequel is also in development, aiming to reunite the original powerhouse ensemble of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts.
